Our Experience Across Education and Skills

ALIN brings together experience across a range of education, training and skills projects, supporting providers and organisations in developing effective approaches to teaching, learning, workforce development and quality improvement.

Our previous work spans further education, vocational training, inclusion and international skills development, providing valuable insight into the challenges faced by education providers and the importance of practical, evidence-informed solutions.

The following examples highlight some of the projects and areas of work that have helped shape our understanding of the education and skills sector.

Research and project experience

Education and Training Foundation – Study Programmes
ALIN supported further education providers with approaches to Study Programmes, including work experience and the contextualisation of English and mathematics. The work drew on provider practice and vocational learning contexts. Independent evaluation of the support programme was undertaken by the Learning and Work Institute, not ALIN.

Education and Training Foundation – T Levels and workforce research
ALIN’s previous education and skills work includes enquiry and development relating to T Levels and the teaching workforce, including English and mathematics. This experience informs our understanding of the challenges of implementing change across different vocational settings.

Inclusion and SEND
ALIN’s wider project experience includes work concerned with inclusive practice, SEND and the accessibility of professional resources in further education. This informs our approach to gathering evidence from learners, staff and providers with different needs and circumstances.

Vocational education and international skills
Our wider experience includes vocational education and institutional-review activity in Saudi Arabia, drawing on occupational standards, technical education and the relationship between training and employer needs.
